The well-known Norwegian chain Fuglen opened its café in Fukuoka in September 2022 on the first floor of a large office building. In the morning, in addition to coffee, they offer breakfast, and in the evening, a cocktail bar opens.

The interior features Scandinavian minimalism and 1970s design, reminiscent of the ABBA era. On the wall there is a painting of a bird-man holding a cocktail, a nod to a series of labels created for Fuglen by Norwegian artist Bendik Kaltenborn. While this might have appealed to the 'hayato' falcon-men who, according to legend, once lived in the area that is now Fukuoka, it’s just a coincidence: 'fuglen' simply means 'bird' in Norwegian.
