This establishment opened in March 2024. A massive two-story wooden house, formerly owned by a prosperous craftsman, with an inner garden and a stone storehouse in its southern part, has been transformed into a shop selling utensils for sadō—'the way of tea' (the respectful Japanese term for the art of the tea ceremony).
The tea room was created by Mr. Tokubuchi, a master of the Mushanokōji school, under the concept of 'waiting for rain.' The space, a fully reconstructed traditional storehouse in the kurazukuri style, embodies the spirit of the contemporary tea ceremony.
Three set menus are available, featuring tea blends, wild teas, and carefully selected wagashi sweets. Reservation is required.
