Avid fans of alternative coffee, pour-over enthusiasts and drip purists (only paper filters; nylon and metal are off the table) opened this spot in February 2017 on the ground floor of a former art school. Since then, they’ve actively promoted specialty coffee in its alternative forms, participating in various city events, which has made them well-known around Kyoto.
Their proximity to Kyoto University of the Arts has also boosted popularity, with students appreciating the stylish design, romantic name (“Sounds of Wandering” in Japanese), unique garage-club vibe, and, of course, the selection of pastries and sandwiches. The café has 18 seats—a rarity for Kyoto coffee shops.
