The unusual name of this establishment is read as “Pathfinder times Nobu,” since it refers to multiplication. The first of the three coffee shops in this chain opened in Osaka in November 2020, when the aforementioned Nobu (his real name; any resemblance to other Nobus is purely coincidental) decided to return to Japan from Melbourne to enrich the local specialty coffee culture with his presence.

Espresso here is made on a SanRemo machine, alongside which there are two grinders, one of them being a Mahlkönig. Pastries, including the popular Basque cheesecake, come from neighbouring pastry chefs.

The “missionary” component, true to the name, is also present: the “Pathfinder’s” mini-chain trains baristas for work abroad, teaching them the basics of the profession and the English language.
