Crony is a modern French restaurant in Tokyo (with an emphasis on the word “modern” — don’t expect traditional or classical French cuisine here). It is located in the Minato area, just a one-minute walk from Akabanebashi Station.
Crony offers dinner in an omakase format — a chef’s tasting menu. The menu reflects seasonality as well as the principles of sustainability and the “zero waste” philosophy: misshapen vegetables, sun-dried salt made without using an oven, and ingredients such as sake kasu (the lees left over from rice during sake production).
The chef and co-owner of the restaurant, Michihiro Haruta, previously worked in three-Michelin-starred restaurants such as Quintessence (Tokyo), Ledoyen (Paris), Saison (San Francisco), and Maaemo (Oslo).
